Bill Clinton's list of favorite books intersects at two points with my own stack of emergency literature; and Four Quartets (not The Four Quartets—to hell with you, USA Today) was a strong contender. I hope he actually does like these books, and isn't just yanking our chain here.

I have made arrangements with Goliath. I keep sending them my cover art and they keep not putting it up, the capitalist swine.

Anyway, I have a show on Friday. There's no cover, but I might pass a hat around or something.

The Greater Roadrunner (Geococcyx californianus) has zygodactylic feet, leaving X-shaped tracks with ambiguous direction. The Pueblo and Hopi used the X symbol to mislead evil spirits. Border folklore in the early twentieth century held that a roadrunner would lead a lost traveler back to his path. In Mexico the roadrunner is known as paisano, countryman.
